Growing up with severe Tourette Syndrome and OCD, Ian didn't learn about the nervous system from a textbook. He lived it. The physical pain from his condition, the intrusive thoughts, the feeling of being trapped in a body that wouldn't relax — these weren't concepts to study. They were his everyday.
That experience became his greatest teacher.
